So as you can tell, I have dyed red hair. I made the switch from blonde last year and I have never been happier. However, as the tips of my hair are blonde and the roots darker, it means I get an unwanted ombre effect when I am nearly ready for my salon appointment, I use a Revlon Colour Ball every couple of weeks, but the fading is inevitable. Also sometimes I feel like my hair could be in better condition, years of bleaching blonde have taken a toll and there is only so much a hair masque can do, if only there was another way! Wait, whats that you say? Olaplex? Olaplex or “insurance for your hair” is the hot new product from over the pond and it is receiving rave reviews! Instead of simply moisturising the hair from the outside, Olaplex works from inside out, effectively repairing it,[…]
Video review of the Paysanne basque by Silhouette lingerie. This is a beautiful, form-fitting black corset-style basque in black with suspenders and detachable shoulder straps – watch the video for my full review!
Autumn is now with us so that can only mean one thing..brand new winter wardrobe. Winter is my favourite time of year, fantastic warm wool coats, pretty cardigans and any excuse to wear my faux fur hats! So you can imagine how delighted I was when I saw the new Hell Bunny collection, especially the Madden dress. It has a real 1940s feel to it and it is available in fou colourways – green, burgundy and grey with black spots and brown with white spots. I went for the green as it was my favourite. I ordered mine from a website called Hotrockinbelle.com the dress is out of stock on there but I have seen a few shops on I went for the green as it was my favourite. So the dress arrived pretty quickly and I was so excited to get it on! It fits beautifully. I went for a size[…]
Hello there! I shot this video as I was unboxing the Glossybox UK September London edition box. Now I have had time to use the products I can give you my honest and unbiased opinion. DR LIPP Original Nipple Balm for Lips Okay, so the name is a little bit funky, but let’s just go with it. I wear a lot of red lipstick and my lips do get very dry sometimes. I normally use Vaseline but I gave this a shot. I was actually very surprised, the main ingredient is natural lanolin so its got no nasties in there. I used this on my lips at night after my evening routine and in the morning my lips were still shiny with product and they felt very soft. The only downside was the size of the product, it was tiny and ran out soon – I would have preferred to[…]
So this was my first Curvy Kate set, amd unless you live under a rock you will know that Curvy Kate is a fab lingerie range from here in the UK which specialises in larger cup sizes, but makes the effort to design their lingerie to look sexy and appealing to younger buyers. I recently got refitted and discovered that I am a 32E in a bra, so I thought I would treat myself to some swanky new lingerie. I bought my set from the Brastop website, as they cater for bigger boobs and they always have really good prices and deals on offer. I went for the Curvy Kate Angel Bra in bluebell and white, because, lets face it, there just isn’t enough blue lingerie around, which is another thing I really like about Curvy Kate: the colours and designs are fun, not just the usual black, white and[…]
I had never heard of Krisline before visiting Brastop and I thought I would give it a try. Krisline is a Polish company specialising in larger cup lingerie up to a H cup. Their designs are a bit more traditional with lots of lace and more neutral colours. I went for the Queen Body as I really wanted to try one. The body fit really well, the cup sizes were accurate (I’m a 32E) and it felt secure without feeling like shape underwear and was really comfortable. This body is fantastic for creating a smooth silhouette, it would also be terrific under a sheer blouse with high-waisted trousers or a skirt. I love it so much I may have to purchase another in black!
So this is my first proper “lingerie” review here on Tricky Little Corset, and I thought I would go for something that sums up the title of the blog (ie. a bit of classy, 50s-inspired corsetry) with the Gossard Ooh La La corslette in noir from Brastop. As soon as I saw this corslette, I knew I wanted it – it’s difficult to describe why, but it kind of just leaps out at you, and I wanted something that looks both sexy and stylish – and classy. I’ve had plenty of basques in my time, but never anything as elaborate as this. Straight out of the parcel, it felt like something that’s well made and designed; sturdy materials, beautiful lace pattern and reinforced stitching. It’s certainly not flimsy, but equally, it doesn’t feel like it’s made of canvas and girders. I was genuinely excited when I unwrapped it – and[…]
Kandee Limonade Limited Edition Shoe Boots My size: 5 So, this is my first ever blog post here on Tricky Little Corset (or TLC as I’m fondly calling it). And what better a way to start my blogging career than with some shoe lust. If you’re anything like me, then there’s a feeling that overcomes you when you feast your eyes on a pair of shoes that you’ve just got to have – the vision goes fuzzy, heart palpitations kick in, the stomach lurches – and only a pack of wild horses could hold you back from reaching into your purse and slapping notes on the counter in a gibbering frenzy. The words “must have” were invented for these bad boys. And so it was thus when I feasted my eyes on the Limited Edition Kandee Limonade shoe boots. A 4.1″ stilleto heel with a hidden platform (taking them to[…]
