Every year around the end of January and the beginning of December, a strange sight can be seen in lingerie departments and boutiques around the country. The human male in an unnatural habitat. There are lots of different types, the hoverers, who just hover around on the periphery and leave empty handed, the grabbers, who grab the first thing that looks like it might fit and hope for the best and finally the wishful thinkers, who buy the most inappropriate, uncomfortable items known to man and get upset when their efforts are in vain. Most women have at some point in their life received lingerie from men and usually it’s stuffed in the back of the drawer never to be worn or see the light of day again. But do not fear, I am here to give you some tips so that the lady in your life gets the lingerie[…]
Video review of the Paysanne basque by Silhouette lingerie. This is a beautiful, form-fitting black corset-style basque in black with suspenders and detachable shoulder straps – watch the video for my full review!
The Gossard Retrolution has been an object of desire to me for a while now, so you can imagine how excited I was when I discovered that it was on sale at House of Fraser. If you have read my review of the Gossard Ooh La La corslette you will know I had a bit of trouble with the sizing, so with this in mind I went for a cup size smaller – and I was not disappointed. So, I bought the Retrolution panty girdle in a small and the longline plunge bra in a 32DD (I usually wear a 32E) from House of Fraser. The first thing that struck me was the quality; it is absolutely second-to-none, the little details Gossard have added to the Retrolution range are similar to those on the Ooh La La range – everything that matters is there in the design, including all-metal fittings[…]
So a couple of days ago I discovered Pinterest, yes I know I know I am sooo three years ago. Anyway I was doing a bit of afternoon “research” and I came across this little beauty and more importantly this fantastic brand! So here we go, introducing the Kiss Me Deadly – Elle robe. As you can see, it’s available in three beautiful colours from Kiss Me Deadly, who make some of the most incredible boudoir wear, retro lingerie and corsetry, but I think my favourite is the red! ON saying that, I can’t quite make up my mind, as the black is beautiful – and the purple is exquisite too. So once again Santa Claus, if you are reading my blog, you know what to do for my Christmas this year… Which is your favourite colour? Do you own an Elle? Let me know what they’re like. I’ve been really,[…]
Dear Santa, if you are conversant with the internet and you are reading this, let me just say, I have been a very good girl this year, well I have tried to be. So with this in mind I would like this gorgeous Marcie babydoll by Cleo from Panache which is available at Bravissimo to appear in my stocking this year… Usually I am not a fan of babydolls at all, I mean what is the point, yes they look pretty but the reality of it is that it will spend more time slung on the floor than keeping your boobies in place and looking fab-u-lous. However, the Marcie babydoll by Cleo from Panache is properly sized for big boobs (available in D-J cups) and the bottoms are briefs so you could even use it as very glamorous sleepwear. So please Santa, stop off at Bravissimo and make sure this is under my[…]
Before I start this review post I should mention that I am wearing a different bra size from the last lingerie reviews I did. I decided to measure myself using the Sophisticated Pair calculator after realising that my bra band was far too loose. You can find their calculator here. So I measured myself up and typed the numbers in and out popped ….32E! So, the first thing I purchased for my newly sized boobs was a Curvy Kate Angel bra set in black and white. I really like Curvy Kate as a brand, they’re properly sized for D+ boobs, unlike a lot of high street bras, and they are in fun, with funky colours and designs. As you can see I went for the full set as it was in the sale – I thought ‘why not?’. The bra fits really nicely, it holds my boobs in place and feels[…]
So this was my first Curvy Kate set, amd unless you live under a rock you will know that Curvy Kate is a fab lingerie range from here in the UK which specialises in larger cup sizes, but makes the effort to design their lingerie to look sexy and appealing to younger buyers. I recently got refitted and discovered that I am a 32E in a bra, so I thought I would treat myself to some swanky new lingerie. I bought my set from the Brastop website, as they cater for bigger boobs and they always have really good prices and deals on offer. I went for the Curvy Kate Angel Bra in bluebell and white, because, lets face it, there just isn’t enough blue lingerie around, which is another thing I really like about Curvy Kate: the colours and designs are fun, not just the usual black, white and[…]
So this is my first proper “lingerie” review here on Tricky Little Corset, and I thought I would go for something that sums up the title of the blog (ie. a bit of classy, 50s-inspired corsetry) with the Gossard Ooh La La corslette in noir from Brastop. As soon as I saw this corslette, I knew I wanted it – it’s difficult to describe why, but it kind of just leaps out at you, and I wanted something that looks both sexy and stylish – and classy. I’ve had plenty of basques in my time, but never anything as elaborate as this. Straight out of the parcel, it felt like something that’s well made and designed; sturdy materials, beautiful lace pattern and reinforced stitching. It’s certainly not flimsy, but equally, it doesn’t feel like it’s made of canvas and girders. I was genuinely excited when I unwrapped it – and[…]
