A few weeks ago, I went to a fancy dress party and decided to make my own costume rather than do the lazy thing and rent one (or the tacky thing and try to make one that doesn’t quite represent the character you’re supposed to be dressed up as). So this is my first proper “lingerie” review here on Tricky Little Corset, and I thought I would go for something that sums up the title of the blog (ie. a bit of classy, 50s-inspired corsetry) with the Gossard Ooh La La corslette in noir from Brastop. As soon as I saw this corslette, I knew I wanted it – it’s difficult to describe why, but it kind of just leaps out at you, and I wanted something that looks both sexy and stylish – and classy. I’ve had plenty of basques in my time, but never anything as elaborate as this. Straight out of the parcel, it felt like something that’s well made and designed; sturdy materials, beautiful lace pattern and reinforced stitching.
