Before I start this review post I should mention that I am wearing a different bra size from the last lingerie reviews I did. I decided to measure myself using the Sophisticated Pair calculator after realising that my bra band was far too loose. You can find their calculator here.
So I measured myself up and typed the numbers in and out popped ….32E! So, the first thing I purchased for my newly sized boobs was a Curvy Kate Angel bra set in black and white. I really like Curvy Kate as a brand, they’re properly sized for D+ boobs, unlike a lot of high street bras, and they are in fun, with funky colours and designs.
As you can see I went for the full set as it was in the sale – I thought ‘why not?’.
The bra fits really nicely, it holds my boobs in place and feels firm around the band without digging in. The cups feel secure and I don’t feel like I am spilling out of the top or the sides.
I went for the thong brief as I’m not a massive fan of boy shorts, which was the other alternative.
I really like the little peephole on the back of the thong, it’s just a cute little touch that sets Curvy Kate apart from other lingerie brands. I bought the thong in a size 10 and it fit perfectly and didn’t dig in at all.
I love the colour mixture of this set too; the ivory detailing makes it very striking, but at the same time it’s suitable to be worn under a variety of outfits.
The suspenders I also adore. I know a lot of people don’t like suspenders as they feel they can be too fiddly – but I love them – they make me feel so feminine and sexy. These suspenders from Curvy Kate are also fab because they have boning in them. Now, I don’t know if you’ve ever worn suspenders without boning in them, but believe me – they aren’t comfortable. The boning helps keep them secure and in place – and also offers a little bit of extra support.
In these pictures I have teamed them with a pair of Jonathon Aston seamed stockings which are my favourite brand – they’re good quality, last for ages and also come in tons of different colours and designs.
As you can see from my side-on shot, the bra sits nicely in place and so does the suspenders. I wore this full set last Saturday evening for several hours and not once did I feel like I wanted to start adjusting my bra or fiddling with my suspenders – it all fitted perfectly and stayed in place all evening. It’s safe to say this will not be my last CK set…
I’m interested to hear if you have a Curvy Kate set, what was the fit like, did you find it comfortable, was your size the same as usual? Please let me know!
